How do I ensure that an insurance payment is sent directly to me and not the patient?

This article covers the specific settings required for Assignment of Benefits to ensure that insurance payments are issued directly to the Provider or Facility (as opposed to the patient).

Assignment of Benefits is an arrangement by which a patient requests that their health benefit payments be made directly to a designated Provider or Facility. In order for the Provider or Facility to receive the insurance payment, the HCFA 1500 form must indicate that the patient's signature is on file and the Assignment of Benefits field must be selected.

These settings will ensure that all payments issued by the insurance company are paid to the Provider directly.
